Betsy 

 A native of South Carolina, Betsy, worked as a veterinary assistant for 6 years prior to coming to Brevard Animal Hospital. She joined our staff in 2000, and is a chief part of our medical team. Betsy is great at providing nursing care to all our patients including, but not exclusive to, sick and recovering animals. Betsy also holds many of the behind the scenes jobs, here at the clinic that helps us to keep running smoothly.

At home Betsy, along with her wife Trisha, has a house full of animals including; two loving dogs, “Zedra” and “Toby”, two curious kitties “Indiana” and “Pedro”, a dancing cockatoo “Jack”, along with an assortment other of birds, fish, and a snake.

  Amanda

 Amanda has lived in the Western North Carolina area most of her life, having become a Transylvania resident in the early 1990’s. She joined our staff in the fall of 2003 and has since shaped herself as an effective member of the crew.  As part of our medical team she helps to provide nursing care for our patients, including sick and recovering pets. She also has the additional task of inventory management and ordering for our clinic. 

Amanda tries to take advantages of living in the Pisgah Forest area. When not working here she helps out with a local company that puts on mountain & road bicycle races. In her spare time she enjoying the outdoors through hiking with her dog, a goober-y pit mix “Dozer”, and at home she has a feisty, three-legged kitty “Monster”. 

 Danielle

Joining our patient medical care team in January of 2006, Danielle originally moved here to Brevard from Long Island, NY in 1998. A key member of our crew she is well versed in providing medical care for our differing patients. An experienced groomer she runs her own thriving business from home called “Fancy Paws”.

Danielle’s household consists of her six dogs all varying in size and shape, two turtles, and a quarter horse cross “Falcore”. Along with all her four-legged responsibility, Danielle and her husband, Richard, are also the proud parents of two energetic and adorable, young children Kale and Payton.  

 

 Carissa

Carissa was born and raised here in Brevard, North Carolina and continues to call this area her home. In 2008 she received her registered veterinary technician degree from A-B Tech. After using our hospital for her internship, she began working here with our medical team after graduation, the fall of 2008. Along with all of your duties as a technician, Carissa now holds the lead role as our OSHA representative. 

Carissa lives in the Cedar Mountain area with her exuberant boston terrier mix named “Pixie”, a cute kitty “Gracie”, and a corn snake “Charlie”.

 Morgan

Morgan joined our staff in June of 2013. A native of South Carolina she graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Tri-County Technical College in South Carolina, with a degree as a Registered Veterinary Technician. An energetic addition to our medical team, she also has the additional tasks of organizing and updating Home Again, our microchip service and is in charge of ordering our wide variety of Purina products.

Moving to Brevard, Morgan has brought with her two precious beagle mixes “Sadie” and “Remi”, along with a free-spirited cat named “Pima”.

 Kara

Kara came to work for us in May of 2015. Kara cares for our boarding animals, and recovering animals in the kennel. She also assists keeping our practice running smoothly with her much needed help around the clinic. Kara has lived in in the Western North Carolina area her entire life and has always had a strong love for animals. Enjoying our abundant outdoors and especially time at the barn, has led to her involvement with Free Rein. Free Rein is a local organization that offers therapeutic horseback riding and interactions for individuals with various life limitations.

When not working here or at Free Rein as one of the barn’s managers, Kara is enjoying her time with her furry friends that include a handsome Collie/Shepherd mix named “Duke”, an energetic Morgan mare named “Sierra”, and her bearded dragon “Mango”. Kara’s household includes a variety of other animals, two more horses, two guinea pigs, and a ferret.

 

  Amberly

The newest addition to our Medical Team is Amberly.  She began her career with Brevard Animal Hospital in Sept. 2016, beginning with caring for hospitalized and boarding pets.  She is a life long Brevard resident.  She also helps out at Free Rein a therapeutic horseback riding center near Island Ford Road and US 276.

Amberly has 2 cats, “Smokey” and “Canoli” also a beloved horse named “Rio” a quarter horse saddle-bred cross.
